The Kolsterising® process was developed by Prof. Ben Kolster at the TNO Institute in the Netherlands in the early 1980s.
Kolsterising® being a unique highly technical process offering various advantages to austenitic stainless steel Prof. Kolster decided to offer the process to the industry world-wide. He formed a company named Hardiff BV to promote the process.

Over the years Kolsterising® became more and more popular and in 1998 it was decided to integrate Hardiff BV into an international group dedicated to metal technology. Hardiff BV joined the Bodycote Group offering metallurgical services to the industry world-wide.
